I embraced my true love Katrina vanden Heuvel as the waves gently rocked the enormous cruise ship in time with the beating of our hearts. The fluorescent bulbs of the tiny stateroom reflected off the perfectly polished black leather of her Karl Lagerfeld thigh-high boots.

"Katrina, how I have longed for this moment" I whispered fiercely as the massive engines throbbed inexorably beneath us. As I pulled her closer, I could smell hints of 1995 Krug Clos d’Ambonnay on her breath.

It was the smell of Revolution.
The Nation–America’s oldest and premier radical left-wing publication–just held its 17th annual cruise. As you can see from the excerpt above, Liberty Island was there and we had an awesome time.
For our next writing contest, your assignment is simple: Imagine you were on this cruise and tell a story about what happened. Use any genre you like; but remember, Comrade: You must glorify the party and the proletariat above all!
