It is often said that Summer is for Lovers. What’s less often remarked is that every four years in America summer is for politics – and never more so than in 2016.
So as we enter the warmer months and passions are running high (both in head and in heart) our latest short story contest invites you to explore the interplay, conflicts, and confluence of love and politics. After all, romance (and the lack thereof) has driven man’s urges for revenge, power, and control since the Greek fleet sailed for Troy.
The story can be any genre you choose; contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi, historical… be creative, let your creative juices flow. We like to publish a diversity of stories!
Entries should be 1,500-5,000 words long. The deadline is Sunday, June 12th. One Grand Prize winner will be awarded $125 toward a romantic dinner with his or her sweetie. Runner-up will receive a gift basket of Liberty Island’s latest novels.
Aim high, and get those entries in!
