Francis Blaise Gillis

Francis Blaise Gillis was born and grew up in Nova Scotia, but spent his high school years in the United States. In that time away from home, two things marked him for life: he fell in love with America and discovered he loved to write. Back in Canada, he spent six years in university, earning a Master of Arts in English. After several false starts, he found success, first as a direct mail manager for a book publisher and later as a public affairs consultant for the chemical and nuclear industries. The latter career included extensive writing for industry journals. Now, Francis devotes himself to writing poetry, plays and short stories.
