While earning a degree in Philosophy at the University of Florida, Mark Ziebart studied fiction writing with Harry Crews, Padgett Powell, and Lawrence Dorr. He eventually headed west where he completed a graduate degree in Creative Writing at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is the author of Riley's Blues and Leaving Buchenwald.
